PostSubject: Disability   Tue May 29, 2012 6:22 pm

I'd like to know if anyone here is disabled due to IIH. Last week my Neurologist told me that between my IIH, my migraines and my epilepsy (apparently in remission) that I have more than enough to be classified as disabled. She said that I am one of her three most difficult patients. I feel ambivalent about taking government's money but at the same time, even though I have insurance, I still have a pile of medical bills to pay and no way to bring money home. The only medication that works also makes me extremely tired and brain-scattered. And to think that I graduated from a Master's degree 2 weeks before this whole nightmare stared....

I am disabled due to the IIH and have been for about 10 years now. I did work up till 6 years ago until my health led to early retirement. I am on a benefit and I also have DLA, it wasn't my choice but in the end I had to accept that was how it had to be. If your Neurologist has told you that you are able to be classed as disabled, then it might be time to look into benefits now. There is no shame in it, and at the end of the day you have to think about what is best for you, and what you need, to live better.
